If you are a geek like me you probably go everywhere with your lap top and make sure that your next travel destination has a wifi hotspot where you can hook up to.
Usually you need to pay for an internet connection and if not you probably do so while paying for an expensive hotel. I like to travel cheap, paying only enough to be confortable and in a clean and quiet place, and saving to have more for spending on trips and attractions. So if the hotel is cheap and it has the added bonus of offering a free wifi hotspot, I give that hotel a 5-star.
In my review of Costa Brava hotels the cheapest choice I found was Lloret de Mar and searching further I found a nice hotel with free wifi connection in the lounge with very cheap rates. You can sleep and eat full board for only 45€ now in september.
The garden terrace is a relly nice place to sit in the mornings and evenings and guess what, you get free wifi connection there too, so I’ve been sitting out there and checking my email and the status of my blogs, etc.
The hotel is Hotel Savoy Lloret de Mar, and it’s at 50 yards from the beach which you can see from the hotel. I really enjoyed Fenals Beach. I visited Lloret de Mar beach also, but it was much more crowded. Fenals Beach is a little smaller but there are also less people too, and you have all the services, like the boat ferry which takes you from beach to beach, the touristic trolley train which takes you on a tour all over the village, and buses to Lloret de Mar, plus lots of different water sports, like diving and parasailing.
Check it out for yourself, I recommend you take a cheap flight with Ryan air to the Costa Brava airport and take the bus from there. It’ll take you to Fenals in Lloret de Mar and then it’s just a 5 minute walk to the beach from there.
The hotel website has online booking and a webcam, very useful if you want to see what the weather is like.
